These clouds typically reach Earth a day or two after the event. The term is also used to refer to similar phenomena in other stars, where the term stellar flare applies.
Solar flares were first observed on the Sun by Richard Christopher Carrington and independently by Richard Hodgson in 1859[3] as localized visible brightenings of small areas within a sunspot group. Stellar flares have also been observed on a variety of other stars.

The frequency of occurrence of solar flares varies, from several per day when the Sun is particularly "active" to less than one every week when the Sun is "quiet", following the 11-year cycle (the solar cycle). Large flares are less frequent than smaller ones.. Time 5:28 minutes

When A Solar Storm Engulfs Earth they affect all layers of the solar atmosphere (photosphere, chromosphere, and corona), when the plasma medium is heated to tens of millions of kelvins the electrons, protons, and heavier ions are accelerated to near the speed of light. They produce radiation across the electromagnetic spectrum at all wavelengths, from radio waves to gamma rays, although most of the energy is spread over frequencies outside the visual range and for this reason, the majority of the flares are not visible to the naked eye and must be observed with special instruments. Flares occur in active regions around sunspots, where intense magnetic fields penetrate the photosphere to link the corona to the solar interior. Flares are powered by the sudden release of magnetic energy stored in the corona. The same energy releases may produce coronal mass ejections (CME), although the relation between CMEs and flares is still not well established.

X-rays and UV radiation emitted by solar flares can affect Earth's ionosphere and disrupt long-range radio communications. Direct radio emission at decimetric wavelengths may disturb the operation of radars and other devices operating at these frequencies. Time 4:18 minutes

A coronal mass ejection (CME) is a massive burst of solar wind and magnetic fields rising above the solar corona or being released into space. This includes billions of tons of Energetic Particles moving in a toroidal ball o plasma and energy.

Solar Energetic Particles can cause particularly strong aurora in large regions around Earth and even effect the events within the core.

When the ejection is directed towards the Earth and reaches it as an interplanetary CME (ICME), the shock wave of the traveling mass of Solar Energetic Particles causes a geomagnetic storm that may disrupt the Earth's magnetosphere, compressing it on the day side and extending the night-side magnetic tail. When the magnetosphere reconnects on the night-side, it releases power on the order of terawatt scale, which is directed back toward the Earth's upper atmosphere.

There are also EMPs that can be made by men.

Government scientists and Air Force experts have concluded that violent electromagnetic solar storms, in the form of CME's and Coronal holes, could wreak havoc on all electronic systems.

Most major, transient disturbances in near-Earth space are produced by solar events known as coronal mass ejection (CMEs), which involve the ejection of billions of tons of solar material into space. Much of this material is in the fourth state of matter known as plasma. Many CMEs, including some of the more spectacular ones, erupt from regions well away from sunspots and any apparent flaring activity. CMEs probably result more from changes in the large-scale magnetic field that permeates the solar corona.

On March 13, 1989, the entire province of Quebec, Canada suffered an electrical power blackout. Hundreds of blackouts occur in some parts of North America every year. The Quebec Blackout was different because this one was caused by a solar storm!

Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) from our Sun was responsible for the solar storm of 1859 causing the failure of telegraph systems across North America and Europe. Accompanying the storm were auroras that are normally only seen in the Arctic and Antarctic but were visible as far south as the Caribbean. Typically we would expect a storm of 1859's magnitude cause power blackouts and wreck satellites.

In space, some satellites actually tumbled out of control for several hours. NASA's TDRS-1 communication satellite recorded over 250 anomalies as high-energy particles invaded the satellite's sensitive electronics.

Do we really know how big they can get?

Mega flares including Hyder flares could knock out power for a major portion of the earth that would leave large parts of the globe in the dark for moths or years.

A far more important effect is the increase of activity in the geometric core structure of the planet as energy enters at the polar cusps. This leads to fusion and the creation of new matter, Electromagnetic pulses as well as more heat and pressure causing a chain reaction of cataclysmic transmogrify.

We are partially shielded by our planet's magnetic field from these effects as a shielded distorted cavity is formed, the magnetosphere. Normally the closest the solar wind penetrates towards the Earth is about 10-11 RE (Earth radii), or some 40,000 miles, on the side of the cavity facing the Sun.

On March 24, 1991, a significant CME traveling at 5 times the speed of the solar wind struck the magnetosphere. The data from space probe Ulysses suggested the boundary was within 4 RE of the Earth's center, and that the impact also created a second shock wave inside the cavity, spreading throughout the magnetosphere.

The research spacecraft CRRES, operated by the US Air Force was at that instant deep inside the radiation belt, at a distance of 2.55 RE. The first thing CRRES saw was a torrent of highly energetic protons and electrons. The protons had energies above 20 Mev, twenty million electron volts, some 20,000 times the energy of the average proton in the solar wind. The passage of the shock also left Earth with a new long-lived belt of high-energy protons.

It creates Sprites and Elves, as they are called due to the eerie light shows that they put on as they discharge volumes of electrical charges into the upper atmosphere. Some of these charges are dissipated through the common storm systems that we see circling the earth but mostly overland.

This energy has other far-reaching effects on Van Allen Belts, South Atlantic Anomaly and the very core of planet Earth itself. Hannes Alfven, the winner of the 1970 Nobel Prize in Physics, explains many of these processes in a branch of plasma physics known as magneto hydrodynamics. Cycle 23 "will be one of the largest on record, and comparable to the last two solar cycles", says a panel of international experts chaired by Jo Ann Joselyn of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Space Environment Center in Boulder, Colorado. As of September of 1999, the number of Sunspots had exceeded 225.

On the 11th of November 1999, the sunspot count reached 343. Keep in mind this is seven or more months prior to the expected Solar Maximum.

The director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Space Environment Center in Boulder, Colorado, Ernie Hildner, stated "We're going to have a huge storm (about) Jan. 1, 2000, so people won't know what to blame it on." Solar and geomagnetic events such as ion bombardments and explosions on the surface of the sun can damage or knock out satellite transmissions, hamper navigation systems, cut electric power and bring down telephone systems.

Both Canadian and Scottish officials have come out and stated that they are more concerned with the events on the sun than Y2K. Only recently have some comments escaped into the back pages of the media.

A DEMONSTRATION OF A CME

NASA's recent report, Nov. 21 through 24, 1997 from plutonium powered Ulysses satellite noted that the phenomenon, first reported by TRW observatory circa January 12, 1962 had since 1991, when the outer mantle finished blowing off and the diameter was 200 miles less in diameter, begun to swell. The sun is NOW a HELIUM STAR (NO MORE H2) and that there are NO poles--just total instability.

I knew quakes were coming but not where... but now we know Joe in Australia pegged the location.

I know everything in the universe has a mirror existence. Because of the sun is so large it actually reflect change on our own planet. Yu will actually see events on other planets as well... Joe appears to have seen a pattern in the sun and made a practice of watching the signs.

What are some of the mechanisms?

In include what Dave sent me below for those who want to look at some of the mechanics. If you learn to be sensitive to it you can actually feel these proton clouds pass.

But as Dave says "There are many variables to consider" and there is a lot more going on ... you can know all these things and still miss learning the big lesson...

If the holy spirit lives in you then you will find the high ground, earthquakes will open prison doors and the cripple will walk... you will not need to see the future because you will be in the kingdom.

Dave may not be entirely correct about his predictions although he has hit it many times... this is because with every event things change. Currents change... To figure out every thing while sitting in the tree of knowledge is virtually impossible.

What we know is that things will change... God built the system and he knows the secrets of life and salvation...
