False claim[1], Jesus Says Salvation Initiates And Continues By Repentance From Sin and Obedience Besides Faith; Paul Says This is Heresy
- Jesus does say Salvation is By Repentance From Sin and Obedience but he does not say this is "Besides Faith". Real Faith compels the actions of obedience. Paul does say that cannot follow the 'form' of the law in the sense of the ordinances of the pharisees and earn salvation. Again he is talking to the Romans the ritual forms being imposed upon them by Jews. Paul is absolutely clear about his opposition to those who unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death[2] relling us with another long list to turn away from these sinners who violate the real law of God[3] because those sinners have no inheritance in the kingdom because they do not keep the Law of God even though they follow the strict religious rituals and rules of the Pharisees.
