Blue
The word blue appears some 50 times in the Bible. In Hebrew it is (תְּכֵלֶת) tëkeleth[1] and is said to mean blue from brilliant red through deep purple. Some think it is from (שְׁחֶלֶת) shëcheleth[2] which can mean onycha which is an ingredient used in the making of holy incense. The same letters are found in שַׁחַל in a word translated lion or fierce lion.[3]
The Hebrew (תְּכֵלֶת) tëkeleth is similar to the word תַּכְלִית takliyth[4] meaning end, perfection, consummation, completion, completeness which is from the word (כָּלָה) kalah[5] meaning to accomplish. The color blue can include the idea of accomplishing something or doing something to completion.
