My name

The phrase "my name" appears some 119 times in the Bible.

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. What does it mean to be "gathered together in my name"?

Many people believed that they are called to preach about Jesus the Christ.

The word Christ is the Greek for anointed.

We see in Matthew 24:5 "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." What the verse is telling us that any people will claim that they are anointed by God but they will actually be deceiving themselves and others.

Matthew 24 continues to talk about "false prophets" and "iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold".

Jesus continues warning about "arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect" but then says in Matthew 24:46 "Blessed [is] that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing."
