Bitcoin and Christianity

More people are starting to discuss the connection between Christianity and Bitcoin. Yet neither group understands how deeply government and finances are embedded into the Bible.

  • The Bible only mentions religion five times, but government and contracts hundreds of times
  • In the book, Bitcoin is Venice, there is a chapter on "Bitcoin is Logos". But do Christians or Bitcoiners understand that the word "logos" and the phrases natural law, right reason, divine will, will of God, the Word of God are all interchangeable?
  • Both groups reference the commandment about not stealing, but have not grasped how current governmental institutions and religious practices are built upon covetous practices and idolatry.
  • Even words like leaven and corban would bring both groups together if they really understood the meaning of them.

Bringing these things to light may help unite both groups into local, dynamic, decentralized congregations.

50-minute interview with a non-US medical doctor. Whenever the term "psychedelics" is used, consider how well the word "logos" fits as a replacement. Several good quotes:
  • "Bitcoin is a psychedelic technology that rewires not just minds but societies. It dissolves the hallucination of the state's control over value."
  • "Bitcoin is the mycelium of money. It's distributed, resilient, antifragile, and it has no central spores."
  • "Absolute mathematical scarcity is like a new constant in the Universe..."
  • "Bitcoin is forming a new nervous system for civilization where we communicate value..."
There is a constant presence behind your entire life—The Witness. We are not drawn to Bitcoin for a price or any ideology. We are drawn to Bitcoin because it shares the same traits as The Witness itself—a stable system recognizes another stable system. Bitcoin is the only monetary system that behaves like something written in truth rather than authority because its rules do not bend based on any external pressure. This is why the Bitcoin ethos feels familiar to you on a primal, visceral, spiritual level. Because it speaks the same psychological language as The Witness inside of you. Both of them share a refusal to participate in deception. Both hold their ground regardless of any external noise. And both operate from a foundation of truth that does not depend on approval from anybody. It's almost a misnomer to say that Bitcoiners are obsessed with sound money because, in reality, what we're really obsessed with is alignment—ontological alignment. The alignment between the unchanging core of consciousness and an unchanging system in the external world.
Johann Kurtz joins Marty to discuss his new book Leaving a Legacy and the troubling trend of wealthy families choosing charity over their own children. They explore how the West has lost its culture of intergenerational wealth transfer, why billionaires like Warren Buffett are wrong to disinherit their kids, and the moral framework that once tied wealth to duty. The conversation covers the decline of Christianity's role in shaping how we think about inheritance, the hubris of modern philanthropy, and how to build thousand-year families that pass down more than just money.
