Knowledgeable Bitcoiners no longer appreciate when Bitcoin is referred to as a "crypto". While, technically, Bitcoin was the original cryptocurrency, as new ones have proliferated, specific language has become critical for successful communication of subject matter.
Three distinct categories
- Bitcoin
- Crypto
- Stablecoins
If someone is not clear in their communication between the three, it is a strong sign that they are either fairly ignorant on the subject or a scammer who purposefully confuses the issue to draft in the wake of Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is open source software. 2-dimensional thinkers like to claim that anyone can copy bitcoin. In fact, there are currently thousands of copies of bitcoins (altcoins) that claim to be better. But bitcoin is much bigger than software. Why aren't there thousands of popular versions of chess? (1-minute video)
