Unmooring the purpose of the altars, priests and the Levites from their purpose and function in a free society is first the product of vanity which is the absence of the virtue of humility. A nation of priests and kings is where the people are not slothful in their responsibility to give and forgive in the care of their neighbor through a social safety net of charity and attention to the weightier matters.

Garments

From fig leafs to animal skins man has attempted to cover his nakedness. Like the breeches of the levites these words are often metaphors with deeper meanings.

Exodus 29:21 "And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him."^[1]

Why is the Hebrew word for garment^[1] also the word for treachery?^[2]

There is another word for garment sometimes which is (שִׂמְלָה‎) simlah^[3] which is related to something that gives a covering and can be more symbolic than just cloth.^[4]
