The Greek word we see translated enemy which we in the Bible's New Testament is ἐχθρός or echthros:

1) hated, odious, hateful
2) hostile, hating, and opposing another

2a5) the devil who is the most bitter enemy of the divine government

It appears thirty-two times in the text including two places where it is translated foe.
