One Egg

Take the film from the inside of the egg, and put it on the burn, let it dry then peel off the film and the burning will stop. Do this for a couple of days.

Immediately run very cold water on burn. Splash cider vinegar on burn. Put ice in a washcloth and hold on burn. Learned this many years ago, don't know where, but knew it as a teenager. USA

Apply a washcloth or paper towel soaked in vingegar to the burned parts of your body...works great! It is supposed to help to keep you from peeling, as well.

Mexico- peal 3 or 4 Aloe leaves and then blend them. Mix the blend with one cup of honey and cook for about 15 minutes. Next add 3 tablespoons of brandy. Drink this every 8 hours for a month.

Water Works (Preventative)

Can't tell you all the specific instances of how just drinking "enough" water (water!) has saved or benefited me and others (for both heat/fire caused burns and sunburns) who've adopted a "water only" or majorly water only regiment. I will recount a few instances here.

I'm nearly 60 at the time of this writing. Three, maybe four, years ago I was working alongside a group of men on a building project. A couple of the men are around my age, but most of them are around half my age, some younger. These young men were all trim and "healthy" at the time, and none of them a stranger to manual labor or to laboring in the heat of the day. In the many days we worked together there were many hot days, and on those days there were regular and frequent comments made about the weather. You know the kind of comments, the kind of comments you tend to hear whenever it's particularly scorching. I mention this because, although I knew it was warmer, I was not aware that it was so "hot" as others were being affected and commenting - I simply was not "feeling" overheated, beat down, etc. as they were describing it; nor did I find it necessary to seek the shelter of shade at all.

Around the same relative timeframe, and working with the same cast of characters above (but on another property), I had built a cooking fire in an outside rocket stove in preparation for breakfast. Those of you familiar with rocket stove technology, know they're extremely efficient because they're able to create such an intense heat. In my case, I'd packed the stove full and stoked it really well. After it had been raging for awhile and had burned down most of that initial fuel, with a welder's glove I removed one of the bricks to clear an obstruction before adding more fuel. After clearing the blockage, and not thinking (and so without donning the glove), I quickly grabbed hold of the brick to replace it. It was a full-on grab like you'd do to pick-up any relatively heavy item with one hand. Grab hard enough to lift the brick, heard sizzle sound and felt the burn pain, then dropped the brick. Because I like to use such situations to experiment (they don't happen every day [thankfully] and so you have to take advantage of them when they do) and because of the many occurrences like in the above paragraph surrounding my water intake levels, I opted not to use standard or alternative treatments... but to observe, and to maintain water intake levels.
