Burning Bush Festival - The Event

What to expect?

What to bring?

How to get here?

Camping

This is a camping event.

Feast of Tabernacles was an event to keep people connected all across a nation and in part helped insure everyone knew how to camp. The famous loaves and fishes story was probably just such an event which was about sharing.

There are places to set up tents, have one common camp fire and we can make a gas barbeque available.

There is parking for motor homes and trailers but limited hook-ups here.

There is also free public camping and parking a short walk(less than a mile) down at Ana Lake reservoir which includes a boat ramp and dock.

Location

The event will take place between what Google maps calls the Mongolian tea house and the Ana Reservoir RV Park on Pintail Lane. (Warning: If you use a GPS you should never leave paved roads until you get to the corner of Carlon Rd and Pintail lane at which time you are here. If your GPS puts you on a gravel or dirt road before the sign says Pintail stop listening to it and change the settings in your GPS.)

The Carlon Road turn off to the east is between mile post 67and 68 on Highway 31 in Lake county. Pintail is the first gravel road to the south just after you pass Ana Reservoir RV Park. We are on the east side of the Pintail lane second driveway gate.

Other facilities Area and maps

And there is the Ana Reservoir RV Park across the road.

Their is a restaurant and motel 6 miles away

And a small limited Summer Lake grocery store 5 miles away See Google maps.

Pictures

There are pictures of past events at Burning Bush Festival photos

It is in the same area as the White Rock Gathering which takes place in the spring.

There are some pictures of that event at White Rock Gathering photos

Food

We have a small limited community kitchen and may set up the mobile kitchen this year which was used at the White Rock Gathering. People are expected to work together with the volunteer kitchen staff to prepare food because of limited space.

Everyone should contribute in someway to lift the burden of preparing meals and clean up. They should tend to or bring any of their own dietary requirements. Other than your personal dietary needs if there is food you want to share that should be coordinated with those people who are a part of the volunteer kitchen staff.

We usually prepare one good midday meal and work out something lighter for an evening meal.

Breakfast is more a sharing event with fruits or granola type items provided. Again special and personal dietary desires are your responsibility.

We do not need apples or plums this year. But we do not grow watermelons, bananas, or tropical fruits.

Size of gatherings

We have not desired to have to large of a gatherings at this present location because of limited space and facilities but if the White Rock Gathering grows we hope to create the facilities and ways of having larger gatherings. That will depend on the support of the people.

Weather Changes

In the high desert the weather can change. It could be warm and sunny, but can be cool even cold at night. Night temperatures could be in the 40's or high 30s so come prepared for all conditions. We are at 4,500ft so if sunny, the sun can be hot, bring a hat.

It is desert country and there could be bugs, like mosquitos. You should have a pair of long pants and long sleeves. We had more rain in the last few weeks than we had all last year.
