Masks
Masks cannot stop the Coronavirus.
They may slow the spread in some limited situations.
At best a vaccine may only produce 70% immunity and there will be side effects and injuries from a vaccine.
The best hope is herd immunity which should not be delayed because it has stopped far more lethal flu outbreaks and diseases in the past.
The longer it takes to reach herd immunity the more risk for the elderly and immune compromised people eventually being exposed.
The quicker the virus spread to the healthy members of society the safer the weaker people will be.
Back in February researchers estimated that 85 to 90% would show little or no symptom because the natural immune system will protect most people. Less than 5% will develop severe symptoms from which most will recover.
Where testing for antibodies have been done far more people are already immune and did not even know. Doctors have been using antibodies from immune people who have already had COVID and recovered.
To make the people who are producing antibodies ware masks is foolish because they are literally shedding the cure.
If you know someone who had it already and recovered you should not make them ware a mask because they can save society.

- Study: The Effect of Wearing the Veil by Saudi Ladies on the Occurrence of Respiratory Diseases It is customary in clinical practice and elsewhere to put on a mask for protection against infection, dust, and so forth. The veil, which is traditionally worn by women in many Muslim countries, especially in Saudi Arabia, may have a similar effect. The study was carried out during 1998–1999 in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. Adult women were asked to answer a structured questionnaire related to the occurrence of respiratory tract problems and about veil wearing. Veil wearing was practiced by 58% of the sample. Respiratory infections and asthma were significantly more common in veils users (p < 0.00001 and p < 0.0003, respectively). This unexpected finding was probably secondary to infection. More and bigger studies are recommended.

The New England Journal of Medicine: Universal Masking in Hospitals in the Covid-19 Era
"We know that wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection. Public health authorities define a significant exposure to Covid-19 as face-to-face contact within 6 feet with a patient with symptomatic Covid-19 that is sustained for at least a few minutes (and some say more than 10 minutes or even 30 minutes). The chance of catching Covid-19 from a passing interaction in a public space is therefore minimal. In many cases, the desire for widespread masking is a reflexive reaction to anxiety over the pandemic."
"The first is during the care of a patient with unrecognized Covid-19. A mask alone in this setting will reduce risk only slightly, however, since it does not provide protection from droplets that may enter the eyes or from fomites on the patient or in the environment that providers may pick up on their hands and carry to their mucous membranes (particularly given the concern that mask wearers may have an increased tendency to touch their faces)."
