== Ponzi schemes ==


A [[Ponzi]] scheme is an investment fraud that pays existing investors with funds collected from new investors. Named after Italian businessman Charles Ponzi, the scheme leads victims to believe that profits are coming from legitimate business activity (e.g., product sales or successful investments), and they remain unaware that other investors are the source of funds.

Ponzi scheme organizers often promise to invest your money and generate high returns with little or no risk. In many Ponzi schemes, there are often no investments made.

[[Ponzi]] schemes are generally insolvent. Social Security is said to not be insolvent because the funds received into Social Security are invested in government-backed securities at a certain interest rate, thus generating returns. 


If we figure in the fact that the government was severely in debt and the Federal Reserve needed more collateral before increasing the money supply, the idea that [[Social Security]] was established as a Ponzi makes little to no sense. Add to that the fact that there is ''no division of the funds'' of the government from the [[Social Security]] fund, which has been well established by the Supreme Court.

[[Social Security]] was not a Ponzi scheme because there was never any intent to return a profit nor a guarantee of [[benefits]]. It is true that it was sold as a [[social safety net]], but was neither true insurance nor a system that promised returns on your investments.

== Corvee vs Ponzi ==

[[Social Security]] was established by [[FDR]] to increase the collateral of the United States in the form of obtaining a governmental right to tax the labor of its members.

A Social Security number is the equivalent to a Federal Employee Identification Number. Once you are a member, you will be '''[[employ]]ed''' in part by the Federal Government. 

[[Social Security]] from the beginning was the classic form of [[Corvee]] used from the beginning of the first [[city-state]].
