Comments on "Connivance" |
Christ and the prophets were clear but false men claiming to be anointed of God[1] have crept into houses and hearts to preach the doctrines of men that are not with out a perverted connivance. |
Someone sleeping with their step mother seems strange. Why does the rest of chapter 5 about other things that seem out of place. Should we question the modern consensus of the Spirit suspect a confusion? |
A relation with a step mother would be adultery rather than fornication. |
Pornia[2] is a metaphor for "the worship of idols" and is far more common than step sons forming unnatural union with their new mothers. |
Benson Commentary states, "In the Old Testament whoredom sometimes signifies idolatry, because the union of the Israelites with God as their king being represented by God himself as a marriage, their giving themselves up to idolatry was considered as adultery." |
Both the terms of adultery and fornication are metaphors that can refer to our relationship with a harlot or whore or a system represented by those images that takes the place of the Bride of Christ which is the Church. |
The harlot or whore image is that of another Church that is not faithful to God the Father but has an intimate relationship with the Fathers of the world. |
If we look at the topics of Chapter 6 they are Not inherit the kingdom, Unrighteous vs Righteous, The wise and shameful, The deceived fornicating idolaters, The covetous extortioners, Things Lawful. |
If we look at Chapter 4 it was about the Faithful Stewards of service, Laboring to Bless, The servants of Tens with one Father, No rod but love. Is the "father" in Chapter 5 one of those [[Fathers] of the earth that Jesus told us not to pray too? |
The reason we were not to call any man Father upon the earth was because the term was an office of governments that exercise authority in the provision of the dainties and benefits of the tables of rulers which are supposed to be for their welfare but often became a snare. |
Fornication, idolatry, and covetous practices all snare the people entangling them in a yoke of bondage because like the Corban of the Pharisees they make the word of God to none effect. The Way of Jesus includes the Corban of Christ according to the perfect law of liberty that provides social welfare in a daily ministration of pure Religion through faith, hope, and charity. |
The temples of the world used force, covetous practices that made men merchandise. |
The translation I see is more relevant and accurate, "But we hear about idolatry (metaphorically fornication), and such fornication, which is what the nation is called, you are the wives of the father."[3] |
The question now is who is the wife? |
All the ancient systems of social welfare were represented by a named goddess as a counter part to male god figure. There was the Turtledove goddesses of Sumer. The temple of Diana, the temple of Roma, all providing social welfare in those pagan temples. |

Paul often used individual adultery and fornication to compare it to the national adultery that Christians in Corinth and others places were tempted by. |
Paul shifts after mentioning fornication with your "father's wife" to talking about the people "gathered together" but fears being delivered "unto Satan" who is the adversary" of The Way of Christ and those 'adversaries are the rulers of the world who offer dainties and benefits at the table of the social welfare State. |
We were told to not to pray to the fathers of the earth by Jesus. [4] The father or patros in the text may one of those Fathers, who like the Patronus of Rome had a counter part in the Roma, Temple of Diana or Salus Semonia (Latin: salus, "safety", "salvation", "welfare"). |
V8 Paul mentions a "little leaven leaveneth the whole lump" and the "leaven of malice and wickedness". The question unfolds as to what is malicious[5] and wicked[6] leaven? |
Keeping the "feasts" has to do with the daily ministration and that "gathering together" in the Tens and not being "fornicators of this world" of Rome or the Corban of the Pharisees and their covetous practices. We should " not eat" the free bread of or with those who would be counted "a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner" would make us extortioners and with idolaters |
He speaks of going out of the world which has to do with not depending on the world, Satan and their covetous practices which take a bite out of one another and force the offerings of the people through Benefactors who exercise authority one over the other. |
"Christians are to avoid familiar converse with all who disgrace the Christian name. Such are only fit companions for their brethren in sin, and to such company they should be left, whenever it is possible to do so. Alas, that there are many called Christians, whose conversation is more dangerous than that of heathens!" Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary. |
Saul, Taxation, freewill offerings, welfare. wages of unrighteousness, Sabbath, The national debt clock is the result of covetous practices and failure to repent and seek the Kingdom of God. |
John the Baptist told us that providing for the needy though charity rather than force was primary to repentance and seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness. |
Fornicators delivered to the adversary
1 ¶ It is reported commonly<3654> that there is fornication<porneia> among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles<1484>, that one should have his father’s wife.
2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
Deeds
3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,
Spirit gathers
4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
6 Your glorying[7] is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
The old Leaven of pride
7 ¶ Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity<purity> and truth.
Fornicators or idolaters of the world
9 ¶ I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators[8] of this world, or with the covetous[9][10], or extortioners, or with idolaters[8]; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
Not keep company
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator[8], or covetous, or an idolater[8], or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. [11]
Within and without
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

- Matthew 24:11 "And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many."
- Matthew 24:24 "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect."
- Mark 13:22 "For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if [it were] possible, even the elect."
- 1 Corinthians 15: 15. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
- 2 Corinthians 11: 13. For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
- Galatians 2:4 "And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: 5. To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you."
- 2 Peter 2:1 "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction."
- 2 Peter 2:2 "And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."
- 2 Peter 3: 16. "Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know [these things] before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness."

- Benson Commentary states : "The original word, πορνεια, implies criminal conversation of any kind whatever; and is used by the LXX., and by the writers of the New Testament, in the latitude which its correspondent word hath in the Hebrew language, namely, to denote all the different kinds of uncleanness committed, whether between men and women, or between men, or with beasts. Accordingly it is used in the plural number, chap. 1 Corinthians 7:2. Here the word signifies incest joined with adultery, the woman’s husband being still living, as appears from 2 Corinthians 7:12. In the Old Testament whoredom sometimes signifies idolatry, because the union of the Israelites with God as their king being represented by God himself as a marriage, their giving themselves up to idolatry was considered as adultery."

- ↑ Fathers of the earth
- Matthew 23:9 "And call no [man] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven."
- Matthew 6:8 "Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."
- Matthew 7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
- Matthew 12:50 "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother."
- John 14:26 "But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
- Romans 8:15 "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father."
- 2 Corinthians 6:18 "And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
- 1 John 3:1 ¶ "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not."
- The Fathers of the earth assume the natural role of the father of the family. Like the Conscripti Patri or the Patronus of Rome who become the benefactors of the masses offering them benefits and dainties from their civil tables of social welfare which are not only a snare, but destroy liberty, making the people merchandise. The Church established by Jesus would seek to have a daily ministration of Pure Religion through fervent charity.

- Mark 7:20 "And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."

- 2 Peter 2:14 "Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:"
- Colossians 3:5 "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:"
- ↑ Covetousness is idolatry
- Colossians 3:5 "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:"
- Ephesians 5:5 "For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God."

- For it is written that the tables of dainties provided by rulers of the world are a snare because they cause the masses to bite one another through government systems of legal charity which are covetous practices which are a form of fornication or adultery where the people are devoured as merchandise, curse children and are "entangled again in the yoke of bondage" with the aid of the false religion of the whore who rides the beast.
