Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

When these words were written they did not use the normal word for teach in the Greek.

The most common word for teach is didasko (διδάσκω)[1] meaning to teach. in the sense of "to hold discourse with others in order to instruct them, deliver didactic discourses".

It appears as teach almost a hundred times in the BibleCite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content

another word is katecheo (κατηχέω)[2] which only appears a few times and is from two words from kata meaning according to and echos meaning sound as in noise. The word is commonly translated as instruct or teach even inform by word of mouth.

Another word used even less is heterodidaskaleo (ἑτεροδιδασκαλέω).[3] It is another compound Greek word that means to teach something litterally from another master.

There is one more word that is translated teach only once[4] but normally translated preach and that is kataggello (καταγγέλλω) [5]

The word translated teach in Matthew 28:29 appears only four times in the Bible.[6]
