Do the testaments of the prophets in the Bible tell us to keep the commandments?

We know that in Matthew 19:17 it is written "And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."

And in John 14:15 it is written "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

The Church established by Christ and the Kingdom appointed to the little flock is is what we should be seeking.

It is also not a scattered flock. His sheep hear His voice and the revelation of God the Father builds His Church in them and with them.

This is what he told us in Matthew 16:17 where it says "And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven."

How do you know that it is the Father in heaven who is revealing to you what you think is true?

Did you figure out the truth because you studied hard and for a long time?

That is flesh and blood or spirit that has convinced you?

There are many Theologies professed by people who join groups.

Some of them must be wrong because they disagree with each other.

How do we know who is right?

How do we know if we are wrong or right?

Should we have Fellowship with unbelievers and who even believes?

This is an important question since we see the word translate fellowship in 2 Corinthians 6:14 "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship(this is not koinonia but metoche [1] meaning partake or sharing.) hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion <koinonia> hath light with darkness?"

So we must also ask what is a "believer".[2]

A Believer is "a person who show themselves faithful in the transaction of business, the execution of commands, or the discharge of official duties".

What is really important in the identification of a believer?

What tells us that you are seeking the kingdom and the righteousness of God?

Fruits, Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Matthew 7:20 "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

The works of faith

2 Thessalonians 1:11 "Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of [this] calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of [his] goodness, and the work of faith with power:"

Yes Paul said Romans 3:27 "Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith." and in Galatians 2:16 "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."

But there is a difference between the works of law and the works of love.

So what is the law of love?

Did not Jesus tell you, have you not heard from the beginning?

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Matthew 22:37

So if you keep the law of love and love Him you will keep His commandments.

So if you are not keeping the commandments then you do not love Him and are not keeping the law of love nor the law of love.

"What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." James 2:14

If you do not commit adultery you have kept the law but if you lust after a woman according to Jesus you have already committed the sin of adultery in your heart. The first has kept the law but he who does not lust has kept the law of love.

This is why you are not saved by the works of the law but are saved by grace because you are a believer in Christ, not merely in a doctrine of the mind. A believer loves the Holy Spirit of Christ. And because he loves that law of Christ he will keep the written law.

This should be simple to understand. Keeping the written law may or may not mean you keep the law of love but if you do not keep the written law that is evidence that you do not love He whom you say you believe in.

This is why it is not those who say Lord, Lord but he who are Doers of the Word.

Now you must understand a Believer is not one who accepts a written doctrine as true in their minds but one who keeps the commandments out of love. many who do not know the written doctrine may keep the commandments because they are written upon their hearts.

Now you should ask yourself do you keep the commandments?

Do you covet?

Do you desire Benefits at the expense of your neighbor through Benefactors who exercise authority one over the other?

If you love God and your neighbor as yourself you cannot desire such Benefits and call yourself a Christian or a follower of Christ.

If you did that would be taking the name of the Lord in vain.

To make agreements with the Fathers of the earth so that they would be your Benefactors and savior in time of need would be making covenants with other gods.

That would be a false witness who did that and said they were believers in the God of heaven.

If they killed by the power you gave them then you would be a killer.

If taking those benefits cursed your neighbor with debt, you could not eat of them in good conscience and your love would compel you to become a benefactor who exercised love instead of force like John the Baptist.

Every commandment would be broken in such a World.
