False prophets

false prophets

In religion, a false prophet[1] is according to some is one who falsely claims the gift of prophecy or divine inspiration, or who uses that gift for evil ends.


Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets <5578>, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets <5578> shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets <5578>, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet <5578> are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
